Is it just us or are the winter blues hitting particularly hard this week? Lately we've been finding ourselves dreaming of sunny vacations, warm weather and sandy beaches during our weekly calls and mood boarding sessions. Since none of those things seem to be on the horizon for us any time soon, we've taken to finding other ways of bringing the blissful spirit of a luxury vacation into our homes. With that in mind, here's five ways we've been conjuring up vacation-vibes at home.
5 Ways to Recreate a Vacation at Home
1. Airplane Mode
Part of the reason that vacation downtime is so relaxing is because it's distinctive time we allocate ourselves to just do nothing. Enjoying a good book or riveting podcast by the beach is certainly a luxury, but remember that just giving yourself some tech-free time each week has a similar effect on the mind, allowing you to focus on you and your relaxation. Put your phone on airplane mode for a couple hours each week during your usual 'you-time' so you can fully concentrate on yourself. Try a noise machine app to simulate the sound of crashing waves while you get lost in a captivating novel.

2. Get Comfy
Put away your heavy knits for a day and slip into your most luxurious loungewear or pajamas. We created our dreamy new limited edition colorway, Sand, designed to inspired by warm and carefree days spent at the beach. We reimagined our Champagne colorway with silky gold piping for a chic duotone effect on this limited edition set. Our signature pristine premium cotton feels like the deluxe linens of a 5 star resort, perfect for emulating the feeling of being on vacation. The neutral Sand colorway is complimentary to all skin-tones and modest enough to wear by the pool as a coverup come summer time.

3. Five-star Dining
Treat yourself to room service-level luxury by putting together a colourful fruit platter with some high quality chocolates. Enjoy fine dining a la Maison by whipping up an easy but gourmet pasta dish -- we've been loving this Caramelized Shallot Pasta recipe from Alison Roman, which is as close as we can get to a Michelin star dinner with our culinary abilities. Bonus points for setting the dinner table with candles! Round-out the night with a glass of natural wine or a cup of Cacao Turmeric hot chocolate as a sweet treat.

4. Pamper Yourself
Bathorium Crush Bath Soak
We all deserve a good pampering, and what better place to start than at home with a luxurious and restorative bath? Set aside some time to unwind in the tub during the weekend. We love the crush bath soaks by Bathorium for emulating that spa-like experience at home without any nasty chemicals or unnatural fragrances.
Bonus tip: if you've got sore or tight muscles from a long week, invest in a foam roller or some tennis balls to simulate a deep-tissue massage before bed, your body will thank you and you'll sleep deeper than you could've ever imagined!
5. Get out and explore
If you live in a temperate climate, make some time to get outside. Try finding a new hike or even just grabbing a coffee or going for a walk in a new part of your city/town. Just changing your scenery can stimulate your mind in new ways and make you feel like a tourist without leaving town. Being outdoors can decrease stress and anxiety levels naturally, whilst providing a fun and free activity for your body and brain. We're proud to be based in Canada, where our natural surroundings provide endless opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, no matter the season!
